Breeze, Lebua Tower Club
Beautiful view and delicious innovative cuisine
Pricey for Bangkok
More of an experience than just a meal
With stunning view of the city’s skyline
BANGKOK: Are you ever watching TV or flicking through a celebrity magaznie and wondering where are these fabulously elegant people spend there time? What type of bars and restaurants to the crème de la crème of today’s world go to? Well, in Bangkok they go to Breeze Restaurant on the 51st and 52nd floor of the Lebua Tower Club. With its stunning panoramic view of the city’s skyline, it’s innovative menu, and its chic dresscode, Breeze is the place to be!
In terms of location Breeze Restaurant in Bangkok wins hands down. Few places in the world can offer al fresco dining with such a beautiful backdrop. A top tip would be to come before sunset so you can watch Bangkok transition from day to night.
The atmosphere is classy and chic thanks to a strickly enforced “smart attire” dress code. I know there are mixed views on dress codes but when you are dining on the 52nd floor I think you should make the effort to wear something other than ripped denim shorts and in fairness it definitely adds to the experience when everyone is looking fabulous.
The cusinie at Breeze is pan-Asian with some modern western twists incorporated into many of the dishes. There is an equal selection of seafood and meat dishes as well as vegetarian options. Guests can choose from the a la carte option or go all out and try the tasting menu with wine pairings, which is of course what we did. In total we had 7 courses and 5 of them were to die for, one was fairly good (the dessert) and on wasn’t up to par (Turkey and Mushroom Broth).
I was throughly impressed with how creative the menu was, often places that have very obvious selling points e.g. a view or a famous name, put less effort into their food but that was not the case in Breeze. The dishes were wonderfully rich in flavour and the presentation was superb.
Cocktails. My favourite part of the night just had to be the DIY cocktails at the start of the night were we were given a chemistry set and instructed as to how to make our own cocktails, brilliant!
Good service throughout, knowledgable waiter and sommlier, no compliants.
As high as it’s location… no I kid, Breeze is pricey by Bangkok standards for sure but compared to restaurants in Europe it is reasonable and the experience is definitely worth it.
Dining in Breeze was more of an experience than just a meal. From the view to the experimental cocktails, to the delicious food that ranged from bright green sushi to top quality steak… my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Seriously, I highly recommend this place GO GO GO!
Side note to finish this review, if Bangkok is a little far for you then you are in luck… Breeze has just opened a new restaurant in Frankfurt! I haven’t been but based on this experience I would say it’s worth a visit.
