Where do you live? The city of Guangzhou
Here I grew up: Meizhou city, Guangdong Province
Why I visit Guangzhou
Mainly because this is an easygoing city, vibrant, pragmatic, and also a city much about gourmet food.
My early memory:
It’s a big city, full of tall buildings, shopping malls, quite different from my little hometown. Here you can find something to eat in 24 hours.
My favourite place to eat
Yin Sheng Hui. It’s a nice restaurant with a beautiful outdoor area and indoor area as well. In one of the famous garden in Guangzhou city, you can enjoy the surrounding of shady trees. Peaceful and quiet. The food is traditional Cantonese food, and it’s delicious.
Address: Huang Huagang Garden, No.79 Xianlie Zhong Road, Yuexiu district, Guangzhou. No website.
What do you eat there?
Crab, chicken and cellophane noodles.
Meet the locals
TaiKoo Hui, a big luxury shopping mall, which has terrace garden area with different type of restaurants and cafes. www.taikoohui.com
Address: No. 383, Tianhe Road, Tianhe district, Guangzhou.
My favourite bar:
“1920 Restaurant” is a German restaurant and terrace bar. We can have dinner together and then move to the terrace bar for a drink.
Address: Floor 4, No.1 Jianshe Six Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou.
Best place for a first date
Tianhe Nan Road. It’s a residential and commercial area. The cafe, boutique shops and bars have the romantic feelings.
My secret place:
A little street near Chen Clan Academy. Typical Cantonese Food Street, you can enjoy seafood, BBQ with beer in a very traditional Cantonese way.
Address: Behind Chen Clan Academy square, No.34 En Long Li, Zhongshan seven Road, Liwan District, Guangzhou
My best advice
Guangzhou city is more about leisure and food. In a traditional way, you can visit the viewpoints, such as Chen Clan Academy, Guangxiao Temple, take a boat trip on Pearl River and visit the new Guangzhou Tower.
My favourite shop:
I don’t really have a favourite shop but a place that is nice to meet, eat and made some special shopping. Redtory. A creative area full of restaurants, teahouse, cafe, gallery and boutique shops. Relax or take some pictures.
Address:No.128, Yuancun Si Heng Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou.
Taxi or other local transport:
Metro
Keep away of…
Shangxia Nine Road, a shopping street, full of people but not that much to see. Although it’s a traditional viewpoints. You can go to Beijing Road to have a quick look instead, something similar.
Where next:
In China, I will visit the Yunnan province.
Get some inspiration: Shanghai is Wok around the Clock
