Get North! Get Art! Get Design! Newcastle and Gateshead in north-east England host the Great Exhibition of the North. A major exhibition showcasing art, culture, design and innovation from the north of England. The 77-day exhibition will start with an opening ceremony at the Quayside, featuring a bridge of illuminated drones over the River Tyne.

Three themed walking routes will guide visitors to venues and attractions. The Arts Circuit, Design Circuit and Innovation Circuit. The Baltic art gallery invite five northern and five international artists to create work on the exhibition’s themes.
Travel Tips: Whether you travel to Newcastle and Gateshead by road, rail, air or sea, you’ll certainly know when you’ve reached your destination. Antony Gormley’s unmistakeable ‘Angel of the North’ stands proudly beside the A1 in Gateshead. The world famous Tyne Bridge allows cars to travel easily between Newcastle and Gateshead across the River Tyne.
The best deals on rail journeys are to be found on advance tickets. If you’re bringing a car in to the city, seven multi–storey car parks offer free parking.
