American Rodeo in Oregon is great fun

Colorful costumes and country music

The Wild West alive in Oregon: Angry bulls, lasso-swinging cowboys, native Americans in colourful costumes and country music playing at full blast.

Summer is american rodeo season in Oregon, and this means loads of opportunities to experience the rush of watching brave cowboys and cowgirls take on the bull in an arena full of cheering crowds.

The season kicked off with the traditional Sisters Rodeo in central Oregon in June where courageous cowboys competed in a variety of classic rodeo disciplines like bull riding, bareback riding and calf-roping.

Pendleton Round-Up is one of America’s biggest and most prestigious rodeos. It was first held in 1910, and every year more than 70,000 people make their way to the prairie town of Pendleton in northeastern Oregon to participate in the fun. The rodeo is normally held from September. Activities include daily rodeo shows, country concerts, pageants, and “Indian Relay Races” – dramatic and highly intensive horse races with dressed-up jockeys.

Live Concerts. To be announced –  at Happy Canyon Arena, Pendleton, Oregon.
