The award to King Goya is part of the 2021 UK Enterprise Awards hosted by SME News in London The aim is to find the best businesses across the nation, and this year, a recognition to get business back on track. This is the fifth year SME News organize this British Award.
The official decision
This message came from the panel of judges at SME News: “After much deliberation from our judges, I am absolutely delighted to announce the good news. This year, Goya Media Ltd and King Goya online travel magazine has been awarded:
Best English Language European Magazine Publishing Company 2021
“It goes without saying that this is a fantastic achievement and truly represents all of your hard work and driven determination paying off”, Jessie Wilson at SME News said.
Journalists at work
Travel stories created by professional journalists and photographers used to be a wonderful source for ideas and inspiration for most of us planning a trip or holiday. The pandemic made it difficult to travel and to create interesting stories. Getting into travel writing isn´t easy by any means.
“I’m honored and grateful to be the recipient of this award. This is a prize showing journalism still has a role to play in the tourism industry”, Editor Gudmund Lindbaek said.
The Happy Place
Lindbaek is the founder of King Goya, established in 2016 and published in English and Norwegian. This is the second international prize Lindbaek receive as a travel-journalist.
“King Goya is not a travel blog. This online magazine is a journalistic product and we are here to stay. We continue traveling and new experiences as the world re-open. Except from picking up prizes, travel the world is the perfect job to explore such a happy place”
