Life’s a Beach on the Red Sea sunny coast

Low price hotels, food and drinks, safe destination and friendly people

HURGHADA, EGYPT: This part of the Red Sea Coast is best known for warm year-round climate, for its clear azure waters, for beach resorts and a diving destination. Add low prices on hotels and services, a safe destination and friendly local people and you are somewhere on the coast of Hurghada.

Many comes here for snorkeling and swimming in the clear sea. Winter sun was the main attraction for Mona Stuckenbröker, 22, and partner Ugur Mumcu, 23, living and working in the German city of Bielerfeld.

“This is our first visit to Egypt and we enjoy our one-week break from cold winter at home. Sun and sea are our main attractions and we feel safe here”, Mona said. We met her visiting the cool island of Mahmya, off Hurghada on the Red Sea coast.

Three areas. Hurghada is split into three areas. The “Egyptian” part Ad-Dahar to the north. Gebel al-Afish has plenty of shops and restaurants and Sigala in the south with a row of upmarket resorts. The shoreline of the Red Sea goes on for 800 km or 500 miles from Suez in the north to the Sudanese border in the south.

Two Cool Hotels: Westin and Mövenpick

The Westin Soma Bay Golf Resort & Spa
Westin located at Soma Bay 50km south of Hurghada has comfortable rooms, high quality beds and serves superfood in the restaurant. This is a Golf resort with one of the largest spas in the world. The spa offers 65 treatment rooms and an array of treatments. If you play golf and love spa, the activities at this hotel will keep you busy for a week.

Heavenly Bed. You feel it when you sink in late night, the bed gives you a healing and restful sleep so divine you´ll never want to get out next day morning. I continued my day with Superfood and Superdrinks. A selection of food is rich on Antioxidant and naturally low in calories – from blueberry drinks to coriander rubbed chicken. Here healthy food is impossible to resist.

Five stars. As a five star resort Westin provides a fitness studio, Kids club, menu for kids, room service and high speed internet in rooms. Staff are happy to arrange a tour, from boat trip to desert safari.

Mövenpick Resort Soma Bay
Mövenpick hotels always has a certain level of standard and this one year old seaside resort located to Soma Bay is no exception. I stayed for only one night and during my 24 hours visit I had some excellent and tasty food – a lot to choose from buffet in the main restaurant. All rooms and suits with natural light, bright colors, aircondition and internet connection
Next time I will stay for some more days.
