LONDON: I’m an outgoing and adventurous photographer and designer who never misses a chance to go travel, explore, and discover new places, people and cultures. I love big cities and my city is London.

I run a luxury lifestyle and travel concept called SchimJolie. Our main focus and values are quality over quantity, less is more and traveling light. I print my images from travels on oversized pieces of high quality versatile silk. The SchimJolie Silk Square can be worn as elegant outfits from morning to night, in all time zones. And its lightweight material takes up no space in your suitcase.

WHERE DO YOU LIVE? South of Norway in the city of Kristiansand, the place I grew up.

WHY VISIT LONDON
This is an international melting pot, easy to access and so inspiring.

FIRST VISIT TO LONDON? Back in the days I played the clarinet in the school’s music ensemble for 8 years. And every year we travelled to different places to meet and play.

HOW TO FIND PLACES TO EAT? By asking friends on social media and take notes if I spot something interesting. I’m always on the alert and pick up advices as I go.

FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT? The Shard in The City of London. On the 32nd floor is The Oblix restaurant, my new favorite place to eat, drink and have business meetings. I never get tired of admiring London from such a spectacular view. Take the tube to London Bridge and you are basically there. I also like Sushisamba in Liverpool Street.

WHAT DO YOU EAT THERE? ‘Beetroot, goat’s curd & rye crumble’ and ‘Crispy squid, chili & lime’ and it was delicious. Next time I will try “Whole lobster”. I love cocktails and my favorite is ‘Watermelon Spritzer’.

From Fish and chips to Oysters

TYPICAL LOCAL FOOD? It’s ‘Fish and chips’! The best I have ever tasted was at Kerbisher & Malt in Hammersmith

BEST MEAL YOU’VE HAD? A meal at Scotts in Mayfair. The oysters for starter and  Filet of Halibut as main. The interior, ambience and waiters were all fantastic, putting the perfect frame to a splendid experience.

WHERE TO STAY? I tend to end up in The City and my favorite has become The Ned, a hotel with style and elegance. Ned is a former bank with bars and ten  restaurants to choose from and a lobby that comes to life with live entertainment and music during the evening.

MEET THE LOCALS

The best place is a local pub. My favorite is “The Dog and Fox” in Wimbledon  Village.

MY FAVORITE BAR: I travel a lot alone and tend to end up at hotel bars and The American Bar at Savoy is one of my favorites.

BEST PLACE FOR A FIRST DATE: I recommend to meet in St.James Park before it gets dark and go for a stroll and feel if the chemistry is good. If it’s not you can always leave but if it’s a match you can move on to a meal with a view.

MY SECRET PLACE: Joe’s Café in Knightsbridge, in the basement of Joseph’s, 16 Sloan Street. I used to work there. I can also tell you a secret about my secret place. I took over the job when one of my friends back then, Mette Marit, finished working there. Later she married the prince of Norway and became crown princess.

MY FAVORITE SHOP: I always visit and see how scarves at Liberty is displayed. I get so inspired and I hope one day to collaborate with them.

Prefer Uber and like light show in My City

MY FAVORITE EVENT: I love to see Light shows. In January I went to see the ‘Winter Lights Festival’ at Canary Wharf.

LOCAL TRANSPORT? I prefer the underground and Uber traveling over ground.

KEEP AWAY OF? Oxford Street.

FAVORITE MUSEUM: I love the National Portrait Gallery and I find it super inspiring to visit V&A (Victoria & Albert Museum) there is always something interesting going on.

MOST ROMANTIC PLACE

The two most romantic place in London I have been to must be the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew Garden and on top of The Shard as the sun sets and the lights form the city appears. WOW

WHY DO YOU TRAVEL? I travel to get away and I travel to arrive, but most important I travel to explore. I travel to capture moments and I treasure them onto sumptuous high quality silk. I travel to meet people.

WHAT TO COLLECT ON JOURNEY? Memories.

MOST LIKELY TO SAY? Lifestyle-traveler. My international presentation and show called “Elegance in Motion and How to become a #LIGHTSTYLETRAVELLER “
