Always surrounded by landscapes of incredible beauty like the breathtaking mountains of Sierra Nevada, the Sierra de Loja, the polje of Zafarraya or the Altiplano. But which ones are the most recommended? Today we bring you what we consider the seven best bike trails in Granada.
#1 Bike ride of Alpujarra
A beautiful route of approximately 100 km that will allow you to immerse yourself in the purest essence of La Alpujarra. It runs through the spectacular mountain landscapes of the Lecrín Valley. Then the Poqueira Ravine and the Guadalfeo River Valley, dotted with charming white villages such as Órgiva and Trevélez.

#2 The First Settlers
This circular route runs through the Hoya de Baza. Area allows you to enjoy the many historical, cultural, and natural attractions of northern Granada. This was one of the first inhabited regions of the European continent. A place of incredible contrasts made up of the Natural Park of the Sierra de Castril and stretches of desert and badlands in the Geopark of Granada.
#3 Plan my Cycle Route
Hen´s Route is one of the most popular cycling routes in the province. The route runs parallel to the Genil, crossing Huétor Tájar’s green asparagus fields, reaching Salar and climbing the Puerto Gallina. Then leads to Alhama de Granada. From here, you’ll be taken back by the path of Malaga, crossing through the plains of La Malahá.
#4 Mountain Bike Trials
The Goat Road bike ride, which connects the interior of the province with the Costa Tropical (Tropical Coast). It runs along one of the most beautiful scenic routes in Europe. Prepare for a real challenge due to the impressive slopes and numerous curves of the road. The effort is rewarded by the beauty of the Lecrín Valley and Los Guájares, the Jete and Otívar plantations and the beaches of Almuñécar and Salobreña.
#5 The Last Nazarene Frontier
The trail passes through the olive groves of Western Granada and the Vega de Granada, through the Western Mountains. Then the right bank of the Genil, among fortified structures of the last Nazarí border. The Cubillas Reservoir, Olivares, Tiena, Moclín, Puerto Lope, Montefrío, Tocón, Alomartes, Íllora, Valderrubio, Fuente Vaqueros and Santa Fe are some of the most outstanding stops on this route.
#6 La Hoya de Guadix
This path starts in the city of Guadix and continues through the prehistoric territory of its Hoya, running near the Fardes River. It then continues through the steppe and badland landscapes, where over the centuries hundreds of caves have been excavated and converted into dwellings.
#7 Bike route to Sierra Nevada
A challenge of 250 km around Sierra Nevada, passing all the villages of the Alpujarra where Serrano ham is cured. Hence its name. It goes up to the port of La Ragua to pass the Marquesado del Zenete, next to the imposing fortress of La Calahorra and crossing the Hoya de Guadix to return through the port of Los Blancares to Granada.
