Surfers Paradise is the suburb area of the Gold Coast City in Queensland. The location is full of high-rise buildings and is situated right on the beautiful beach. The main shopping strip is called Cavill Avenue and is home to over 300 boutique shops and restaurants.

The tram system

The new G-link tram system, which has 16 stations and leaves every 10 minutes, is a new feature to the city. The route gives tourists and locals quicker access from Southport to Surfers to Broadbeach.

It was first trip since having our daughter and we decided to leave the cold weather of Melbourne, Australia. We thought it would be a great two-week escape from the everyday home and routine life.

The apartments are located just a couple of minutes from Surfers Paradise Beach and sit above the Cavill Shopping Centre.  Rest a shore if you forgotten anything, Woolworths supermarket is right downstairs.  All apartments feature spacious living area, kitchen, spa bath, air-conditioning, laundry facilities and internet access.

Q1 Resort and Spa

The Q1 Resort & Spa is the tallest residential building in Surfers Paradise and boasts extensive ocean views. Our one bedroom Apartment featuring 85 square metres of luxury living space was just what we needed. The views from the apartment were just breath taking.

Facilities include two outdoor swimming pools and one indoor heated lap pool and spa. The fully equipped gymnasium with change rooms and male and female sauna and steam rooms are second to one.

Queensland is known as the theme park capital of Australia with Dreamworld, Warner Bros. MovieWorld, SeaWorld and Wet ‘n’ Wild! All parks cater for kids of all ages.

SkyPoint is located 230 metres in the sky and on the top of the Q1 Building located on Level 77.  It offers breath taking 360-degree views from the hinterlands to the beach.  I was told that SkyPoint has one of the world’s fastest elevators taking you to the deck in only 43 seconds.   The viewing deck is fully enclosed by floor to ceiling glass panels, featuring a glass ceiling around the Observation Deck.  It’s also Australia’s only beachside Observation Deck.
